Restaurant of the Day: Da Edoardo Foxtown Grille

Calamari has become boring. Nearly every restaurant imaginable has fried calamari on the menu.  Making calamari special is no easy task.  The calamari arrabbiata (by TheHungryDudes) at Da Edoardo Foxtown Grill is that dish.  Tossed in a cream sauce with hot banana pepeers and red pepper strips, calamari is no longer drab.

A true mom and pop shop, Dinoto’s is owned by husband and wife team Rose and Pino.  Bella’s Cheesy Breadsticks are particularly delicious.

A perfect winter meal.  Hearty Italian potato dumplings swimming in a thick tomato meat sauce.  Topped with a couple of handmade meatballs.  This is a stick to your bones kind of meal.

A labor intensive holiday treat.  My Italian grandmother makes these once a year much to our delight.  Pieces of dough, deep fried and topped with honey and multi-colored sprinkles.  Perfect for sharing among family members and friends.
