What’s for dinner Wednesday?
10,000 followers! Thank you so much everyone for following us through the food and fun that we try to share with the world. We truly appreciate it.
Happy Spring! Ok, so Michigan only had one or two nice days so far, and there’s ice and snow covering some parts of the state, but we’re I know there’s someone outside in flip flops right now. I guarantee it!
What’s for dinner?
I’m the weirdo that loves certain leftovers. Why? Because sometimes the flavors intensify, and food just becomes a ‘whole lot betta.’ in my opinion (you’d have to ask the other dudes if they agree…I only speak for myself. ~AW ;)
I’m having lasagna I made yesterday. This is about what it looks like today. Cold and ‘pretty’ so to speak. The hot version isn’t as pretty. Also missing from the photo is a slice of garlic bread with grape jam on it.
yes, I eat garlic bread with grape jam. Try it before you make faces, you might be surprised. Like weird combinations? Here’s a fun list of other ones.
Hopefully we didn’t lose any followers with that one. ;)
The lasagna recipe is shown on allrecipes.com located HERE.
So, what’s on your plate tonight?
Detroit Restaurant Week Spring Edition 2011 Preview #3 - 24 Grille
Located in the historic Book-Cadillac Hotel, 24 Grille is on the cutting edge of Detroit restaurants. Chef Christian Borden is not afraid to focus on flavors and textures that might seem experimental or out of the ordinary. Dishes are bold with impeccable composition.
24 Grille also boasts the most elaborate and choice filled Restaurant Week menu with nearly 20 choices. Maybe a reason to go twice?
Berkshire Pork Tenderloin Medallions (by TheHungryDudes) are served with Roasted root vegetables, quince and black truffle jus.
The rest of their restaurant week menu can be viewed here.

Detroit Restaurant Week Spring Edition 2011 Preview #2 - Wolfgang Puck Grille
Sure, it is named after an ultra mega huge celebrity chef, but Wolfgang Puck Grille doesn’t rest on the name alone. Chef Marc Djozlija leads a very talented kitchen that kicks out consistently impressive dishes.
Angel Hair Pasta (by TheHungryDudes) is served with wild field mushrooms and white truffle oil. A savory, meaty, (this a vegetarian option, however) and wholly satisfying dish. Luxurious and utterly decadent.
The rest of their restaurant week menu can be viewed here.

Detroit Restaurant Week Spring Edition 2011 Preview #1 - Angelina Italian Bistro
Angelina Italian Bistro, the newest edition to the Restaurant Week lineup, is a modern yet classic spot. A fantastic wine list together with house made pastas, house cured meats, and other made from scratch dishes make Angelina a perfect stop before the Opera House or a Tiger game.
Sicilian Brick Chicken (by TheHungryDudes) will be available as an entree option. Crisp, perfectly charred/moist chicken sits a top garlicky mashed potatoes, and crunchy caponata.

What’s For Dinner Wednesday?
You know those times where you’re really in the mood to eat something specific for a change, and want it so much, you can almost taste it? The food is ordered, and it finally gets to you, and…it’s not what it’s supposed to be?
I’m there!
What’s for dinner?
I ordered chicken shawarma with toum sauce from Super Greenland Market today because I was out in Dearborn, MI and saw some food posted from Foodspotting.com.
I get it home, and open the packaging…and…
Um…I don’t think that’s chicken. I don’t see the sauce either that she verified was put on my chicken shawarma.
I’d drive back, but it’s about 25 miles from my house. *sigh* I guess it’s beef shawarma for me tonight. (I think? It almost looks like jerky.)
What’s on your plate tonight?
In an effort to get fired up for Spring/Summer, we offer an ice cream waffle (by TheHungryDudes) from Maceri’s Soup and Scoop in Shelby Township. Classic made to order waffle topped with Cherry Chip ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry.
What says “warm weather” more than this??
